SAR Description

This SAR offers educators, clinicians, healthcare workers, and spiritual leaders an opportunity to explore a variety of sexuality topics across the lifespan.

This sexual attitude reassessment (SAR) is a 14 hour process oriented workshop that provides an introductory affective exploration of varied sexuality topics. During the time spent in the SAR participants are invited and guided through the exploration of their values, practices, and privilege while exploring emotional reactivity to sexuality topics. These topics include but are not limited to: size, race, ability, gender, paraphilias, and more. Facilitators Dr. Lexx and Nick will guide attendees through activities, media content and experiential learning to further their own examination of attitudes, beliefs, and practices.

This SAR meets the AASECT requirement for certification as Certified Sex Educator, Certified Sex Counselor, and/or Certified Sex Therapist.

The SAR is 14 hours over two days. Attendees must be present for all 14 hours.

  • An increased understanding of the wide spectrum of human sexual behaviors, identities and orientations (being mindful of diversity, equity and inclusion)

  • Identified their attitudes, values, feelings and beliefs regarding these behaviors including topics of comfort and discomfort.

  • An increased comfort when addressing and discussing a wide range of sexual topics encountered by the clinical or education professional.

Testimonials

"You prepared us very well, and I had an amazing time! I'm so glad I was able to come to this SAR, because I had read some critiques of past SARs when doing research that discussed how some SARs continue a tradition of "othering" certain sexual practices. I will absolutely recommend friends to go to a Dr. Lexx SAR, because you were so inclusive and aware of voices that were not present at the table and made a great effort to include them."

"Everything was wonderfully paced and clearly well-planned! The day was great!"

"Amazing job! It was awesome! Thank you so much!"
