Mitchell Toomey, Ph.D., APC, NCC, CRC, (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Agnes Scott College and a practicing mental health counselor who works with LGBTQ+ individuals and people living with chronic illness. His research and advocacy focus on how public policy shapes mental health, access to care, and wellbeing for queer and trans communities. Through his work in counselor education, clinical practice, and professional advocacy, Dr. Toomey helps clinicians understand how to ethically engage with systems and policies that affect the clients they serve.
