Jude Powell, LMSW

(him/he)

Jude Powell, LMSW (he/him), is a queer therapist and community educator who brings Dialectical Behavior Therapy to life in ways that are accessible, practical, and grounded in real lived experience. He specializes in teaching DBT skills, with a strong focus on distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness as concrete tools for navigating overwhelming moments without losing connection to yourself. Jude approaches DBT not as a rigid protocol, but as a collaborative and empowering framework that helps people build resilience, self-trust, and steadier relationships. Whether in clinical work or community-based courses, he shares these skills with clarity, warmth, and deep respect for the identities and experiences people bring into the room.

To be able to use distress tolerance skills, we must accept that stress happens AND that we can persevere.
