
Workshop Description
This workshop explores how technology can be effectively integrated into clinical supervision, with considerations for both opportunities and challenges. Participants will learn about the wide range of tools available, from videoconferencing platforms to supervision management systems and asynchronous methods. Ethical and legal considerations such as confidentiality, informed consent, and boundary management will be addressed, with guidance from ACA and ACES standards. The workshop also emphasizes strategies for strengthening supervisory presence online. Finally, participants will consider accessibility, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness to ensure that technology-assisted supervision is equitable and affirming for all supervisees.

Dr. Mitchell Toomey, PHD, APC, NCC, CRC, CYT-200
(he/him)
Dr. Mitchell Toomey holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision where he has studied the theory and practice of clinical supervision extensively. Additionally, much of his supervision experience was conducted online due to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students will learn about effective ways to incorporate technology into the clinical supervision process, which is also a core area of training needed for the NBCC ACS credential.

Certificates
Modern Path has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP. No. 7152. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Modern Path is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
