Workshop Description


This two hour course, presented by Dr. Jeremy Neuman, MD of Ally Primary Care will provide an overview of psychopharmacology for therapists. Learners will receive an introduction to the basics of pharmacologic approaches to treating common mental health conditions, gain an understanding of when to make a referral and how to best work collaboratively with the prescribing provider once medications have been prescribed.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Learner will be able to identify clinical indicators which support referral to an MD for a medication evaluation

2. Learners will be able to name most commonly used medications used to treat common mental health conditions

3. Learners will be able to identify circumstances that support collaborative partnerships  with the prescribing professional

PRESENTER

Dr. Neuman (he/him) focuses on treating every patient with the quality care he would want his own family to get. His goal is to partner with patients to give up-to-date medical advice compassionately. In pursuit of offering whole-person healthcare, his formal education focused on people facing mental health issues, the care of people with diabetes, and specific issues facing gender and sexual minorities in and out of healthcare. He opened Ally Primary Care to offer patients more time together and to be able to deliver a more personalized healthcare experience.

He is a proud dog dad (puppy photos available on request) and enjoys sharing time with his spouse and family. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Marietta, Georgia.
